Bottom display MENU, "F"-short press:

The RF Power is set to 5 Watt for setting up the volume level.
1. Set the interface volume to the Yaesu (input) to 0 ZERO.
2. Press the P.T.T.
3. Now start turning the interface volume level from 0 up!
4. On the display will appear an horizontal bar, this is the ALC bar.
5. Now turn the volume down again until the point that no ALC leds are anymore visible !
6. It will show now approx. 3 Watt on the SWR/Power meter !

The volume is now set. Turn up the RF Power (menu #75) and your ready to go !

Crossband mode
Crossband is unfortunately not enabled on the European E models.
To be able to use this function you must connect the lowest jumper beside the voice module connector. Just above the number "2" on the mainboard.

When you set the the desired menu settings in Repeater (mem.402-406) you can switch the radio in crossmode:
- turn the radio off,
- switch back on with the 3rd button (TONE) pressed simultaneously.
Repeat this to switch back to normal mode.

This nice transceiver is made by the Chinese company Qixiang Electron Science & Technology Co Ltd in Fujian. It is a fully featured HF transceiver with unique programming capabilities via a Windows PC with the optional supplied lead.

Inside the sleak design is an impressive array of features, including: FM, AM/CW output (and SSB), dual frequency and channel display, 6 programmable bands, echo, scan, PA facility, RF gain, dual watch, time-out timer, voltage display, roger bleep, adjustable power, noise blanker and ANL, built in SWR meter, hi-cut filter and input voltage protection.
Inside the sleak design is an impressive array of features, including: FM, AM/CW output (and SSB), dual frequency and channel display, 6 programmable bands, echo, scan, PA facility, RF gain, dual watch, time-out timer, voltage display, roger bleep, adjustable power, noise blanker and ANL, built in SWR meter, hi-cut filter and input voltage protection.
TX Power on AM & CW max. 12 Watt, FM & SSB max. 40 Watt.



The radio has 6 bands of 60 channels that can be programmed for export purposes from 25.615 - 30.105. Programming is via USB lead (USB <> Serial com cable) and a PC with windows operating system, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7. 8 or 8.1.
Its full frequency range (export mode) can easily be set by pressing the [FUNC] & [S/RF] keys while switching on the transceiver.

When programming under Windows 8.1 use the old "USB > COM3 driver" (My installation file: "PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v130.exe") I use v3.3.11.152 from 12-3-2010, the version that wont work under win8 is 3.4.62.293 from 17-10-2013 !!

ATT.:
When programming the device notice that the 2 last items in the software v6.0.0 are switched.
The last item is not the Beep Volume but the for last and the for last is not the CW Side Volume but that is the last entry!


Service Menu
It is also possible to enter into the service menu mode, to calibrate the frequencies for each modulation mode. An frequency counter is hereby absolutely necessary !!
Warning!! Do not play around with the numbers when you are not knowing what you are doing !!! To enter service mode: Turn on the machine while pressing [FUNC] then release and press quickly after eachoter the next top keys from left to right ([R.B.] next [NB/ANL] and finally [DW])
You will see that the red transmit LED will turn on and in the display appears something like "bF563" and on the channel display "F"
